The One Eyed Knight

LXXII
As many know I about travel the land and great heroes I seek,
Those rare souls that extinguish evil’s flame and protect the weak.
I saw a man who’s mastery of fighting stopped me in my tracks,
He wore blood red armor, an eye patch and weilded a flaming axe.

The red knight had slayn a troll with one blow, flawless technique,
I wanted to know more about him, so I attempted to speak.
When writing about a hero it is important to get all of the facts,
To get them to open up and feel comfortable, and mostly to relax.

LXXIII
“Excuse me good sir knight, I am Portales and all the land I roam,
Searching for great heroes to inscribe their tales in my tome.”
He had a stern look, and walked with purpose and class,
Certainly I found a hero, surely my expectations he would surpass.

He did not even slow continuing on, I assumed heading home,
As he walked right by me he let out a surly growl, “Piss off gnome.”
And so the red knight walked off and said nothing more alas,
It seemed I was mistaken, he was no hero, just an armored ass.
