CNR Complaint Dept.
*Higgins the Palemaster sits behind the desk*
*A large picture of Brak, an over-sized ogre with a very, very large greataxe, drawn in crayon hangs on the wall behind him*
*Employee of the Month is scrawled across the bottom with the “Y” and second “O” drawn backwards*
If you have found a “BUG” in the new Markshire Crafting Expansion please submit it below.
*Higgins holds up his fingers in two “quote” symbols when he says “BUG”*
Please include your PC’s name, the specific station you were working at (Area, which station in that area, etc.).
Also include the time it occurred (for log searches) and a brief description of the incident.
If you don’t get a suitable response in a short period … well … further complaints can be addressed to HIM.
*Higgins points over his shoulder to the Brak poster*
*The poster abruptly erupts in flames and Higgins stifles a chortle*
*From somewhere nearby you hear…*
Bad Squidface Head! No play nice with Troll Head! Squidface Head go corner if do ‘gain! Brak in charge!
February 20, 2008 at 8:04 am #55386I love the new Gatto area but I can’t seem to make use of the clay deposits. You can click on them, but you just stand there, like you can’t reach….everything else in that area if good, as far as I’ve seen.
Anybody else have this problem with the clay….or is it me?February 20, 2008 at 2:03 pm #55387I assume you have a shovel?
February 20, 2008 at 7:47 pm #55388Enjoying the update(s). A few minor things…
1) I know that both mithril and mithral are valid, however we seem to be using both.
“Mithril Weapons”
“Mithral Ingots”2) A mithr[a|i]l rapier seems to be missing from the list of weapons that can be created? Good riddance I say, but I know a certain elf that will be disappointed 🙂
February 20, 2008 at 8:02 pm #55389Sorry–found this thread after posting elsewhere (OOG). Same problem with grotto clay. Shook shovel in frustration after trying approach from multiple angles. Plenty of clay to be dug in the world of course.
Bronze wire hood w/o properties made at loom on right when entering tanner’s foothold, this AM, char Sun-Ok Cheng, tossed in trash can outside tanner.
Other post also dealt with lack of mith. rapier and titanium/silver wire and derivatives.
Other post also queried whether a new thread for further crafting ideas was to be established for clarity.
*backs hastily away from poster of Brak*

Yes T, I did….cause I dug Sand up in the same location.
It might just be me, somebody else go try to dig up some clay…if you can, then its me…if not its a bug.February 20, 2008 at 9:08 pm #55391@Brindisium wrote:

The recipe for mithril shields doesn’t recognise enchanted mithril ingots. Six are in the anvil but the dialogue shows “0 of 4 enchanted ingots of mithril”. Maybe this is related to the mithril/mithral dual spelling?
I found the problem, will send script update to T tonight.

Edit: Re mithril ingots
I found the problem, will send script update to T tonight.
Thanks

…Edit: Re mithril ingots…
Actually the fix was easy so I sent it to T already.
It wasn’t related to the various spellings of mithral vs mithril, which is an annoyance, but not something I will go through and fix at this point.
Consider it something where the rendering of the real dwarven word into common just doesn’t really cut it!
Also, the mithral weapons should work, and be craftable. I think the problem was limited to the shields.

February 21, 2008 at 3:11 am #55394By the way, can’t copper shields be enchanted to something a bit er, stronger? *Harumphs and disappears quickly toward the enchanting altar*

February 21, 2008 at 11:41 pm #55395No! Copper is shody material for a sheild! A real man doesn’t use one for long, he gets a man’s sheild. Copper is a weak material that can only hold a weak magic.
February 22, 2008 at 12:45 am #55396*a man’s shield is made of manly materials such as iron, mithril, adamantium, etc…
February 22, 2008 at 3:26 am #55397I’ll tell you what – you stand there with your manly iron plain shield, and I’ll give your opponent a weak, shoddy, copper lightning shield and we’ll field test……… *Grin*

February 22, 2008 at 1:34 pm #55398so you’re saying his opponent will be highly resistant to electrical effects? Meh… heh

February 22, 2008 at 3:00 pm #55399Couple more crafting bugs, and more kudos:
Anyone notice the increase in recipe count? Yay! Craftable Dyes! Fill out the palette. Hurrah. And an actual use for foodcrafting–now Sun can sew AND cook! Terrific adventure skills.
Did note the curing tubs in Foot tanner had two entries each in menus (side-by-side) for light orange cloth dye and light orange leather dye. Recipes same for each pair. Don’t know if just a duplicate or replace other color choice though.
Sometime this early am, either tanner loom in foot, tried crafting either cobalt wire hood or cobalt padded, and cobalt wire in loom was not appearing/counted (ala the mith ingot issues mentioned prior).
Having laboriously collected plat and adam ores, smelted them, and made wire from them, was poised just now to try the plat and adam hoods/padded see if same wire problem–but got caught by reset.
Also–posted in OOG thread a more philosophical comment/query re mith short swords/rapiers and the mith wpns list.
And yes, Sun spends a lot of time in the house of Alec the Tanner–don’t read anything into that, necessarily.
Thanks all,
Gend
February 22, 2008 at 3:39 pm #55400Thanks Gend, I’ll look into the wire issues.
As for the dye recipes being similar, it might be that this was intentional. There were only so many ingredients we could think of, and might have simply left the cloth and leather recipes the same. I’ll double check.
Hope you’re all enjoying the new recipes!

February 22, 2008 at 4:37 pm #55401Lots of luvverly stuff in this update, really looking forward to the new jewelery (for which we could do with a proper recipe card rather than the existing list of cut gems >> fine gems).

mahogany Tower shield mislabeled as (a second) mahogany Small shieldHow about catching up with some of the older bugs – especially Oat Flour correction in Bag of Thunder and putting Chamomile somewhere IG?
February 22, 2008 at 6:04 pm #55402Fairly certain Chamomile is in game. Though I supposed I could check.
Not everything is in a garden.
February 22, 2008 at 10:02 pm #55403LT’s latest update is in game.
Enjoy.
February 22, 2008 at 10:08 pm #55404If you can tell me that Chamomile /is/ IG somewhere then I will be happy to continue searching for it 🙂
OTOH : If a DM wants to cook up an evening’s play based on getting it or another player’s char needs assistance with something .. Nitha /really/ wants to find that plant 🙂

I don’t know if it was in the update or not, but the cobalt wire is still not showing that its there when you go to make Cobalt Stitched Hoods.
February 22, 2008 at 10:20 pm #55406Also adjusted the clay and sand deposits in the new section of the Grotto.
February 22, 2008 at 10:25 pm #55407It appears that the dirt mounds are backwards.
They allow me to access them locally when I test them but not online.
Anyway. I will fix them and re-upload the mod with them facing the other way.
Very strange.
February 22, 2008 at 10:36 pm #55408Third time’s the charm perhaps.
Damn dirt mound model doesn’t seem to like any direction.
Gonna replace it with something else.
February 22, 2008 at 10:55 pm #55409New model works. Enjoy.
And yes, chamomile plants exist in game.
February 23, 2008 at 12:59 am #55410Thanks for all the recipe bug reports. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to address them this weekend, but early next week I should have some time for squashing!
Thanks for your patience,
LT
February 23, 2008 at 1:32 pm #55411Thank you for the heads up on chamomile, T, and the clay corrections .. search is on :0
February 23, 2008 at 1:37 pm #55412Can confirm that the new shields recipes are IG and working now. Thanks.
February 23, 2008 at 1:47 pm #55413Not a bug but…
I made one of the new mithril weapons (a battleaxe), very nice looking! The additional damage type seems perfectly in keeping with the metallurgy. However considering the weapons are made from enchanted ingots it would also seem plausible to me that the weapon itself would also be enchanted…
A +1 enchantment on the weapon would make it comparable in desirability to an iron battleaxe of fire (+1) with 1d6 fire damage. The enchanting difficulty of creating the ingots is also very comparable to the enchanting difficulty of creating a fire weapon.
Seem reasonable?
February 23, 2008 at 3:34 pm #55414Bit more on wires:
Got a chance to try adam and plat wires in loom–they do count in recipes, and do craft properly–at least hoods. Haven’t tried mith yet, but problem maybe just cobalt wire. Help limit your search anyway, Loo.
Enjoying new recipes and almost as much enjoying explaining IG how Sun, recipe card-challenged, actually obtains the information that is derived from crafting stations.
One question just for yucks–has the quirky tinker device ever taken a life?
