We can go parasailing or jog on the beach!
uh, any other ideas on activities?
Anyone going to be bringing pc/laptop? Just need a count here, Mark will put a switch in if there’s more than a couple wired machines needin internet access.
Also, the kitchen has pots/pans/etc, so we can cook crap.

*Cracks knuckles and looks over the kitchen facilities* Beef Wellington, anyone?

February 7, 2008 at 12:41 am #55183You eat crap for supper?
February 7, 2008 at 1:37 am #55184February 7, 2008 at 4:27 pm #55185Is there a grill G?
February 7, 2008 at 5:50 pm #55186I can bring my box and monitor. As for activities, I plan on drinking… umm I know paintball doesn’t seem too popular with the foggies but maybe we can do that?

February 7, 2008 at 7:45 pm #55187Aye, there be a grill.
Never played paintball down there, I’m sure there’s a place or 2. If not, we could always bring our own gear and play in the gator infested state park.

Bet he wouldn’t say that if it was DEER Wellington…… 😉

February 8, 2008 at 2:56 am #55189I think you both missed the movie reference.
Happy Gilmore…
Shooter McGavin says “I eat pieces of crap like you for breakfast”
Happy “You eat crap for breakfast”
Shooter, after a long pause, “No”
I took it a little further and then switched things around so it fit my own mind. I wasn’t banging on beef wellington, though it does sound a little froofy for this country boy.
That all being said… you guys are on the coast… rent a charter, take some beer out on the ocean, and go deep sea fishing. Or, if you’re wanting to do it a little cheaper, tie a dollar bill to a mono filament string and set it on the beach in front of the house. Every time someone tries to pick it up, yank it out of their reach. That chit NEVER gets old.
I will do my very best to send some jerky to one of you guys. It will be the only part of me that probably makes it…. unless people want to buy jerky for a really inflated price.
February 8, 2008 at 3:05 am #55190Why not? The Muddy jerky travel fund – It could work! I already told ya I’d buy some of that real HOT stuff….. Work out some numbers and we’ll see what we can do. I’ll take a look at the airline schedules/prices.

February 8, 2008 at 4:32 am #55191Mudder brings up a very valid point. Movies are probably a must. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Steve’s stuff last year.
February 8, 2008 at 4:32 am #55192All right, everything but that pillow…
February 8, 2008 at 1:16 pm #55193Some of the natural wildlife areas would be neat to see.
Some of the old historic plantations would be neat to see/tour.
I’ve been told a night in Charleston would be fun.
February 8, 2008 at 2:31 pm #55194I also happen to know a few folks that enjoyed playing shadowrun back in the day. I could bust out my favorite module and run that for a bit. It kept us roaring for an entire summer.
February 8, 2008 at 7:12 pm #55195All these ideas are great, even the fishing with a dollar.. lol..
I am pretty much up for everything.I can donate some $$$ to the muddy flying fund, apparently limnologists don’t get rich shocking fish.

February 8, 2008 at 7:24 pm #55196It’s not the salary, it’s the wifes school loans and the InVitro bills that’re killing us.
Not to mention that I am commited to two out of state turkey hunts that came up before we nailed a date down for the gathering.
What’s the going rate of crack? That’s basically all the jerky is to you guys anyway. 😉

What, what?!?!?!
It’s like none of you guys ever had that thought in your head about a comfy couch or something. 😉
…No, I still haven’t shown it to my mother.
April 18, 2008 at 4:18 pm #55198Paragliding, chartering a boat, movies, paintball…
Let’s get this stuff settled.
I know a good majority of the time will be chillin, but anything else will require some modicum of effort to plan.
I’m all for some form of gaming while down there. Perhaps something to do over the course of the stay.
Looking at the map there are a ton of golf courses. I assume we’re not really the golfing crowd.
So more ideas.
I like the ocean fishing concept for part of a day. That merges everyone else’s favorite past time for these gatherings (drinking) and plenty of opportunity for stories.
So pipe up. Get some ideas going.
April 18, 2008 at 4:19 pm #55199Deep sea fishing AND medieval times?
Throw in beer and stories?
*grumbles*
April 18, 2008 at 4:38 pm #55200SHADOWRUN!!!!!
April 18, 2008 at 7:53 pm #55201fishing, medieval times, and SD all sound good to me. Maybe some lady watching on the beach too?

Basically, included with general “Chillin.” From the layout of the place it looks like we can see many, many passersby. 😈
April 19, 2008 at 1:33 am #55203We can always do this again for the people that cant make it. Especially in the off season.
April 19, 2008 at 10:07 pm #55204Don’t forget the $5 bill tied to a piece of fishing line placed strategically on the beach. That NEVER gets boring.
May 23, 2008 at 1:38 pm #55205Gaming: Any preferences? I can bring Battletech, Shadowrun, and D&D.
Any other activities aside from Medieval Times in the works?
May 23, 2008 at 2:06 pm #55206hmmm, never played shadowrun. You got the urge to dm/gm some games? That would rock. Battletech was cool.
I’ll talk with Mark about other stuff to do, there’s tons of the run of the mill touristy crap. Historic crap. various other crap.
May 23, 2008 at 2:14 pm #55207Battletech was cool.
Death From Above!! I want a rematch, dammit!

May 27, 2008 at 11:46 pm #55209There will be a PS3 there as well. The house is a channel house. It sits a block from the beach on the channel.
May 28, 2008 at 3:12 am #55210Oh, this will be a GTA4 weekend, I see….. 😀
