Only second episode and there is an issue with players at the end.
One person casted dominate person on the one attempting to run away with the loot. Commands to share was ignored as they continued to persuade or RP the act and then they logged when action like pausing the rogue to get them to listen/comply. I am tempted to post the following on the Grippli thread due to this. Scruteny please!?Everything went well for me and players from my view. Not as much help was needed for my novice riddle/coded message. The conflict at the end amung players that I will not point fingers or name names, was unnessecary. It could have been resolved if the RP was continued, but my impression (spectator view) was some fuses were way too short and and desired an hour to play out the situation when the ones wanting to get some sleep wished for a more speedy divy of the loot rather than a 5 hour discription or decree on why no one should want their share. I know from experiance in gaming, you don’t mess with the loot rights.
My experiance has learned me this… No one likes the feeling of being ripped off. They want to decide for themselves weather loot is junk or valuable to them. Anyone who logs off with loot and no explination is labled a theif. Even if the loot was just a button for a giants red shirt. You leave without common courtesy, you get harsh feelings. And yes, it becomes your guilty, your problem not the reason for your logout. No matter what. You break trust when loot is not disclosed and displayed for everyone’s view and discrimination. I don’t care how you want to RP the hadeling of the loot, but at least start off with an OOC showing of this is what we got. I don’t have tiime to make nice little bundles of loot for each person and pre divey it out evenly. I leave it up to you all.
I must state and refer you all to natural human psycology. We all tend to react in the same manor to certain actions. You all have different opinions of PVP, so expect the same for how Loot is handled. If your asking for permission to PVP then ask permition to hold hostage loot, otherwise drop it on the ground and leave it alone. Last time I checked, no one playing is under 12. RP is realistic play, role-playing, realism of people…. If you steal or attempt to steal.. people will react accordingly. EXPECT IT! ANTICIPATE IT! No one here is holier than thou or lesser than anyone else. I can’t beleive I have to say this…
And maybe more.
March 15, 2008 at 9:54 pm #55838Opi, I hate to be the one to have to tell you this, but you NEED to get a spell checker. Here’s what I mean:
Everything went well for me and players from my view. Not as much help was needed for my novice riddle/coded message. The conflict at the end among players that I will not point fingers or name names (gr?), was unnecessary. It could have been resolved if the RP was continued, but my impression (spectator view) was some fuses were way too short and and desired an hour to play out the situation when the ones wanting to get some sleep wished for a more speedy divvy of the loot rather than a 5 hour description or decree on why no one should want their share. My experience has taught me this… No one likes the feeling of being ripped off. They want to decide for themselves whether loot is junk or valuable to them. Anyone who logs off with loot and no explanation is labeled a thief, even if the loot was just a button for a giants red shirt. You leave without common courtesy, you get harsh feelings. And yes, it becomes your fault?? and your problem, not the reason for your logout. No matter what. You break trust when loot is not disclosed and displayed for everyone’s view and discrimination?? (ok I can live with that). I don’t care how you want to RP the handling of the loot, but at least start off with an OOC showing that this is what we got. I don’t have time to make nice little bundles of loot for each person and pre-divvy it out evenly. I leave it up to you all.

I know I’m a PITA, but it is important to have good spelling and grammar, especially if you are going to “send a message”. BTW, you should say something, but I think only to those that were a problem. The ones that got angry at the division of loot, were reacting naturally, IMO. No one likes to have loot withheld. And there should be an OOC accounting before the evil chars grab it all.

P.S. – Sorry to bail last night – I posted why in the other topic….
March 16, 2008 at 1:13 am #55839I won’t argue a spell checker. My fat fingers can’t keep up with my thoughts.
So best advise is just mention directly to Cerolas… But as far as the overall message, its not over the line? I hope.
March 16, 2008 at 7:49 pm #55840It’s tough. I have asked folks time and again to sort loot out fairly on DM events.
If you want to get slick and job someone on a normal evenings run through the boggle mines, go for it. They’ll catch on soon enough that when you are around, the loot sucks. They will eventually avoid your company.
I just think it blows to do so to other PCs on a DM event. It’s hard enough to get things rolling along at a decent pace, but to screw things up at the end of the night when it comes to loot can inflame folks.
I posted along these lines here…

I take it someone grabbed loot from a chest and logged out? That’s wrong. I agree with Monty, maybe you should talk to that player first. Regardless, I wouldn’t put up with those shenanigans and they need to be addressed.
March 19, 2008 at 1:14 am #55842I must say I think it is funny Big red posted in the bump I did to a DM Events sticky in the Out of Game forum. I honestly did it just as a general to all since it covered a few similar points.
March 19, 2008 at 2:35 am #55843oh lol it was him? …. *sighs*….
March 20, 2008 at 1:35 am #55844It was partly him. He is trying to get me to use Red the Deadhart in the plotline somehow. I was thinking of making him into a zombie and having him trying to kill them all with a skunk that is bent on eating his rotting flesh. (he tosses it at them)
But there were other reasons like a reminder to all…specially Mule.
March 20, 2008 at 2:19 am #55845It’s so ironic. Half the time you drop some good stuff and they leave it lying there, and the other half, they’re fighting over who stole the +1 dagger……

March 21, 2008 at 1:16 am #55846hehehe aye… I had a skinning knife that had a +5 to craft armor. Consaquently that didn’t drop in the second round. And now that I almost gave it out…
Do skinning knives break? I did make a copy of a tradditional blade, tag the same. I know the handaxes do, which I did hand out.
Sun said it best, most of us know that when playing with others you don’t just take your ball and go home over one minor tiff. It ruins the game for all. And that is what he did. Sure the ball came back.. but at what cost?! Who cares now…
March 21, 2008 at 3:56 am #55847lol, a skunk wielding zombie, well that’s unique. I say go with it.
My first response was that yes, skinning knives break but now that I think about it I am not sure. So my first reaction is yes, but maybe not on second thought.– mule
