I have created a new PC and I was looking to find more players to form a “group” to play along with. The new PC is a NE Pirate Captain. Phinous J. Scales, known as Captain Finn. So first up he needs a 1st mate, then the rest of the crew including a cleric(evil obviously), battle mage, assassin, and lots of fighters. Backstory is the MS navy sunk our ship and stranded us on land. I am hoping to RP as a group(DM’s hit me up if you would like to help with this) for a persistent house that would be a new ship docked somewhere most likely Cona as docking a pirate ship in MS would be stupid. This new group would rise to be a major faction. We would pick a night every week to RP as a group and we can do stuff individually whenever we want. I think this could be fun, LMK what you all think…

September 9, 2012 at 2:17 pm #58621Hey Boost, I’d be interested in being part of an evil band o’ pirates!
Also… I think that there is a pirate area in Spinehold where they
dock at already? Not 100% sure though. Either way, it’s sounds
interesting.Wednesday nights are usually bad for me as that’s D&D time. It
changes from week to week, but mostly it’s on Wednesdays.Anyways… please keep me in the loop. Maybe we can get Opi
back, eh? Guess we’ll have to see. Hopefully there would be a DM
on during the same night we’re playing, obviously, to mess with a
blood thirsty band of brothers, eh matey? 😈–Cor
PS: Think I’d be interested in an evil cleric type. Guess we’ll see though
who wants what, eh?September 9, 2012 at 2:47 pm #58622Some things to keep in mind…
- Markshire’s setting is essentially Medieval Knights with Norse Mythology set in a region with no ocean. You would be River Pirates or Raiders, no one has ever seen open water in this region
- You can come up with some mannerisms, superstitions, etc. that aren’t specifically “Caribbean Pirate ala Jack Sparrow”
- Njord is your god of choice for water safety be you merchant or pirate but to stave off death you still give homage to Hel and if you are down on your luck and need to hunt the woods for some food, Uller is your man … learn more
- There are no guns … not even gun powder but you could go with magic missile wands and the like for a feeling of pistoleering
I’m sure there’s other specifics that might be counter to Caribbean type pirating so use your judgement and shoot me a PM, e-mail or IM if unsure about something.
Have fun and keep a weather eye for NPCs who don’t normally talk.

Good stuff, yeah I know there is no “body of water” around I envision more of a long boat with a fixed raiding party using the river as a fast escape route, not a place to raid ships, though that might happen from time to time.
The god issues will be personal to the crew so every pc can choose for themselves who they worship.
I figure the crew will use the crossbows from the decks, and melee weapons from the land or once boarded. However I will need a battle mage for the heavy lifting.
I’m sure we can find a good time to play.
November 1, 2012 at 6:56 pm #58624I have a bard who won’t be cross classing. He doesn’t really want to be a pirate but would be more than happy to be an independent part of your crew. He isn’t evil but is a minimalist and could easily be swayed to help out for some spoils.
My fighter probably wouldn’t be evil either…he would be a hired gun though.
I have been on during the evenings pretty regularly.
November 9, 2012 at 8:33 pm #58625I have been super busy and haven’t had much time lately, but next week I might be able to make some time.
November 11, 2012 at 3:44 pm #58626Cool matey. Let me know when you’ll be on and I’ll try to make it.
