I like Star Wars but never started collecting any of it. Most of my stuff is horror figures, Dragons, Stargate SG-1, and various anime…..for the most part.

November 6, 2007 at 1:21 pm #54184Those Dragons are awesome Osay. You paint them?
November 6, 2007 at 4:35 pm #54185I was wondering the same. They do look cool. Do you favor any one companies figures? I know there a few each with their own style.

November 6, 2007 at 5:04 pm #54186Those look pretty cool man! Gotta love dragons!
Except for those horror figures… Those are just too darn creepy!!! 😯November 6, 2007 at 6:32 pm #54187@BeyondThePale wrote:

No, but I have some extra from an earllier series, I was thinking of repainting. They come the way you see them from McFARLANE Toys…this is Series 7. I missed a few of the others so I am in the prosses of finding them on Ebay and what not, got the 8th series on preorder. If you want to check out any of the other they are in this list:

November 6, 2007 at 7:15 pm #54189November 6, 2007 at 10:59 pm #54190I’ve always liked D&D figures though I only have 1 (the original Warduke from the LJN toy line still in the package). If I didn’t have such a Star Wars collection I’m sure I would collect figures just like those dragons, but alas I cannot collect everything. Between my SW and comic books, my basement is packed to capacity. I’ve actually been collecting SW since I was a kid, I have alomst all the original figures and ships, plus I have about 40 of the originals still packaged. In addition I have most of the crap thats come out in the last 10 years or so.
Here is a link to a few pics of my collection from a few years ago. I have since remodeled, redoing the walls, putting in a desk (which has my comp and a bunch of SW junk on it) and rearranging a few things.
***Disclaimer***
for those of you who think action figure collecting is a waste of money you better get an air sick bag before viewing;

Hummaaamama. Whadyaahaha. WOW.
I am drawing some conclusions. Wondering how many apply, but please take no offense from any of them.
You were born into money.
You married into money.
You are a packrat.
You have a swell job.
You don’t have any kids.
If you do have kids, they have already earned scholarships.
You didn’t have any kind of dowry to give up for the wife.
Your wife may be more tolerant than mine.I’m sure there are others but that vulgar display of all things Lucas just short circuited my brain.
November 6, 2007 at 11:55 pm #54192Val has a boy, and think of the money he will make when he sells of all that stuff on E-Bay…. 😉

November 7, 2007 at 5:16 am #54194Most Impressive.
November 7, 2007 at 7:14 am #54195Val that’s awesome!
Do you have the Death Star or the Cantena? How about the droid factory? I wish I would have kept my stuff from being a kid. BUT… I know how you got such a big collection!!!
You live near a Toy’s R Us and tunneled into it secretly years ago and still use it!
At least you’re not a Vader hater! 😀

Brak ought to love this picture! LOL!
November 10, 2007 at 9:04 am #54197Actually I don’t have that many playsets, so I don’t have the deathstar or cantina sets……yet. The only playsets I currently have (of the vintage stuff) are 2 of the 3 hoth sets, jabbas palace, and yoda’s house. Playsets in good condition are hard to come by, most are missing numerous pieces. Since those photos are from about 3 years ago I have added a few vintage items to my collection including a TIE interceptor and a 12 inch chewbacca. My original collection was just the 3 3/4 scale figures and I have since added 12inch and vehicles. Then in 1997 Hasbro (formerly Kenner) reintroduced the star wars toys in an attempt to drive collectors insane and ensure that George Lucas was the richest man alive. Once of the hardest things I’ve found when collecting, is I tend to collection creep, meaning I stray away from what I had originally set out to collect. This has caused me to acquire some rather unusual items; including an empire strikes back atari game still in the box, a yoda jedi masters board game, and star wars burger king glasses. Although I do like some of these items in hindsight. and with the amount of space now taken up, I should have just stuck to my guns.

I really started to think about the one up statement and while you do have a massive collection I’ll bet you don’t waste time building custom bases and doing repaints of figures do you?
If no…I got you beat……not sure if I should be proud of that or not? 😆
Here is sone stuff I’ve done:
(these pictures are done with my older camera, so they suck a bit)
Freddy with Boiler:
Jason on the dock at Camp Crystal Lake:
And for those of you who watch Stargate SG1, I had some extra gate parts so I put together a “offworld” gate. All the “stone” is made from Styrofoam.
Here with Jaffa guards and an Apophis figure I made for an extra Serpent Guard.

….told you I was a geek! 😀November 10, 2007 at 1:54 pm #54199Excellent work, man! I’m fond of the Freddy figure and base in particular…And I think I see a power cord for a light that goes in the furnace, I presume? 😉
Nice work on the “stone” for the Stargate diorama!

I have to admit you are right. Building and repainting figures trumps a Star Wars museum in the world of geekdom. So you got me there Osay. I have to fire back with this, in addition to my Star Wars Collection I have over 7,000 comicbooks (mostly DC) including every issue of Batman since 1974.
Nice work on those figures btw, do you do any Star Wars stuff?

I only have a small selection of comics, mostly stuff by Tim Vigil, so you got me on that part.
No, I don’t have any Star Wars stuff at all.November 10, 2007 at 11:11 pm #54202I can’t wait to show this to my wife the next time she complains about ANYTHING I do in excess.
Ossay, those figurines are friggin cool… except that thing on the trike, it freaks me out.
Valgrimm… dude… WOW…
Please tell me you do not have any Jar Jar Binks figures because then you’re just a sick mother. 😉
