- Markshire PCs:
The entity is the essence of revenge walking on two legs. Retribution watches the goings on in the lands of Markshire with a careful eye. He seeks to right wrongs, though seldom can anyone see clearly what is wrong in his estimation. He seems to find irony compelling, and often attempts to steer situations in directions that will bring this point home to those involved. He is patient, often waiting years for the opportunity to show beings the error of their ways.
Followers: Any being that lets anger and resentment for a wrong-doing simmer is apt to attract Retribution’s attention. Not many have the mental fortitude to devote an entire existence to such an emotion, thus it is rare for him to have any real long-term followers.
Appearance: No one knows what the true appearance of this creature holds. Many think the wolf-like visage Retribution usually appears with to be a head-dress of some sort. If it is, it is a fine enchantment, as many have seen the mannerisms and expressions change on that lupine face.January 13, 2006 at 9:12 pm #33314

(taken from another thread)
Regarding an In Game Presence for DMs, we are trying to stick to notable NPCs for general interaction. With beings of power, we have taken a different aspect.
The emotions of the people of Markshire are particularly strong due to the harsh climate and the struggle that has ensued on this plane of existence. These are what fuel what we have termed “Norns”. The Norns are embodiments of these emotions.
A man sits alone at a table in a dark tavern. He cradles a dirty mug of warm ale in his weathered hands. His brows cover his eyes while he slouches protectively over his drink. His thoughts darken his mood, and the mood of those around him. He focuses on one face. The face of the man that so long ago doomed his life. Jacob. Jacob managed to steal his loves heart. He managed to turn her against him. Tainted her mind, and now he sits, alone. He sits and plots, he sits and hates.
Nearby, Retribution looks on, and fans the fires or revenge. He pushes the mortal to the brink, for it is all he knows. All he understands. Revenge.
