Is anyone here a Lawyer or a private Investigator or just someone who has accesses to public records?
See I’m running into a Brick Wall here While the Jobs seem to be plentiful it seems that the only ones that are really worth a damn in some way require a birth certificate. Now I am a Citizen I was born in La Mesa, Ca in 68 at the age of 13 I was Adopted by my grandparents in El Paso Tx and givin a full name change. But it seems that for whatever reason my parents may not have finished paying the Lawyer off and on top of that hes dead now. What I need is help in finding one of these Birth Certificates. Now i have already tried Requesting the one with my adopted name but that just wound up with me sending money to Ca and being told they had no record. Im looking for Knowledge that the record exist before I start sending more money out Send me a PM if you can help. Also While I don’t expect this to be free I really don’t have much money.

Well, I got a little bit of a lesson in California birth certificates. If you know the name of the hospital you were born in you can request an offical copy of one. But, it needs to be notarized by the hospital, which I beleives makes it so you would have to be here. Less they will work with you via PDF or faxing.

Is there more than one hospital in La Masa? You could try calling the town hall and asking which hospitals were operating in 1968.

Actually, just calling the city and querying them in the proper steps would prolly yield the most bang for your long distance buck.

Start with Mary Kennedy, City Clerk.

Her office is in charge of records for the city. Someone at her office should be able to direct you from there.

Bummer, after a little digging, the County Clerk will only take requests by mail because of California’s laws to prevent identity theft.

Follow the instructions on the Birth / Death Certificate page and you’ll receive it in due course. Unfortunately, you were probably looking for something quicker.

    Good luck.

You can have people call you whatever you want. Consider changing your name or setting up a hyphenated surname.
