September 14, 2010 at 1:11 pm #58467It made me inordinately happy to watch the Chefs beat the Bolts last night.
I thought Mr. Ask Somebody! was gonna fall on the turf and have a full on temper tantrum. Classic.
And that McCluster return was awesome!
September 14, 2010 at 5:51 pm #58468wait until week 2.
September 14, 2010 at 6:15 pm #58469What, you mean those Puppies who let a 2nd yr QB on one of the worst teams in the league come back and beat them?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
🙂
September 23, 2010 at 3:24 pm #58470Yo coach G, you got a Raider update for us? How the kiddies look this year?
September 23, 2010 at 8:11 pm #58471Work schedule got jacked up about a month before the season started. I had to take the season off from coaching though I am still helping on our home dates. I am the “voice in the sky” doing play by play from the awesome 70 degree comfort of the press box.. mispronouncing names, doing the 1/2 and 1/2 drawings and playing music during gamebreaks.
I took the liberty of bringing a tablet with no cd player (“Sorry man, I can’t play your mix-cd”) and got a new Raider themed playlist.
The Raider-Only songs include
Paint it Black
The Chicago Bulls Theme
Imperial March
and the NWO-Black and White remixThe Star Spangled banner version is of course Jimmy (not the greatest guitarist ever, but certainly top 10!) Hendrix Live from Woodstock. I follow that up with Reveillie on the bagpipes.
There’s a mixed bag of other stuff, including Yakkity Sax and 80’s TV themes…
As far as the teams go. Our young divisions are pretty darn good but our older 2 teams are pretty darn bad. We ran off our terrible 9-10 year old coaches (the guys that took over that age group after me and my guys moved up) about a week ago, but it was a little late imo… those kids were totally out of control, fighting one another during games, dropping the F bomb and throwing waterbottles at the coaches head. Their (the coaches) overall crappyness has really hurt our player retention at that level (which also hurts the oldest division).
The older divisions will get sorted out as these younger kids age up. We’ve got a good shot at retaining em all with those 2 dorks gone from the JP squad. Both the younger divisions should be playing for a title this season, winning brings in talent from the out of whack rec leagues here.

HA! I’m sure you’re bringing that very special G-osity to this.
Glad that the knucklehead coaches are gone. I’ll never quite understand what it is about youth sports that get adults all crazy like. But it’s good those guys are out of there.
October 19, 2010 at 1:27 pm #58473Yo Boney!
Just about a month until The Patsies visit the Stillers.
We need a wager, a bet, a gamble if you will. Something really idiotic and inane.
Thinking caps people.
October 25, 2010 at 9:40 pm #58474I have a flag outside of my front door. It is a very large Steelers flag. I will mail it to you for you to display proudly for two weeks on your home if the Steelers win.
October 26, 2010 at 12:59 pm #58475Yeah, I’ll be buying a Patriots flag this weekend.
October 26, 2010 at 2:01 pm #58476Hmm….bright red throwback flag, or flying Elvis? So tough to choose.
October 26, 2010 at 3:07 pm #58477Loser should wear the flag like a cape.
October 26, 2010 at 3:13 pm #58478October 27, 2010 at 2:25 pm #58479Well, our terrible (3 out of 5 are playing like complete turds this season) oline got Moore beat to death and had Clausen running for his life until Moore was ready to return. Clausen was shown the bench but at least the front office is keeping him busy!
October 27, 2010 at 2:27 pm #58480Now that is some rookie hazing I approve of!
November 8, 2010 at 2:22 pm #58481Hey Lt…did anyone watch the Browns vs. Patriots game? I didn’t see it..
😛
November 8, 2010 at 2:25 pm #58482*sigh* What a bunch of pansy long haired wimps we put out there.
We deserved to get smacked in the mouth, which is what happened.
I couldn’t watch, it was making me totally crazy. Instead I raked the leaves. An effort of Sisyphusian proportions (looks like we will deliver over 1000 gallons of leaves to the city for composting. WTF?)
November 15, 2010 at 4:13 pm #58483Holy Sacred Patriots Flag has been ordered and will be delivered forthwith to Bonesy’s domicile.
Pictures, please.
November 16, 2010 at 3:37 pm #58484*steps in to take Patsy down a notch for BTP*
*signs deal for Jets/Pats bet*
LAST TEAM STANDING!!
TWO TEAMS ENTER!!
ONE TEAM LEAVES!
Furthest run into the playoffs wins.
At stake … well, we don’t want Patsy getting killed for flying a division rival flag …
Tye-dye, fringe laced, team logo on the back … vest wearing.
One embarrassing day of sporting their division rival’s crap wear.
It’s on Patsy!!
November 16, 2010 at 3:45 pm #58485Dude, with a team headed by a man who’d sell his own children for wins, quarterbacked by a grown man with a Justin Bieber haircut and play acting passion, with the three little white Chipmunks running around
YOU STAND NO CHANCE WHATSOEVAH

November 16, 2010 at 8:27 pm #58488That resized pic of Ryan is awesome.
November 16, 2010 at 10:39 pm #58489Yup. That software addon resizes things to hilarious proportions.
Of course, this one is damned funny.
*makes Pacman noises and visualize Rex Ryan’s head driving around Pacman board getting power-ups to eat the Hoodies*
Mou. Mou. Mou. Mou.
*secretly hoping SMR will make said game*
December 17, 2010 at 3:07 am #58490My team may be #1… as in number 1 on draft day and 1 f’n win… but these guys took the cake this year imo.
December 17, 2010 at 1:33 pm #58491Tough year in Pantherville G.
But just wanted to say thanks, as in thanks for the second round pick. Hoodie will put it to good use no doubt.
Along those lines, I’d like to retract my previous doubt about Bill’s pick of another DB. McCourty has played like money.

Don’t thank me, thank this downs kid.
December 18, 2010 at 8:13 pm #58493Great link G! Thanks!
It’s been fun watching a lot of the young kids on this team. And no, I don’t mean Brandon Spikes’s extracurricular stuff.
WHat we really need are some good D lineman. More pressure on the QB would certainly help the secondary.
December 20, 2010 at 3:14 pm #58494You mean, aside from “Have Fork”.
I think the shame of having Matt Flynn come damn close to beating them might get Hoodie into the “fix the d-line” mood. I’m sure he knew it was a problem but has been in “live with it” mode till the end of the year.
December 20, 2010 at 3:39 pm #58495Losing Ty Warren for the year before the season started is what really got us in trouble on the D line.
Then having Mike Wright and Myron Pryor out, along with Ron Brace being not a very good 2nd round pick in 2009 (he and Darius Butler can piss off – at least Pat Chung and Sebastian Vollmer are redeeming that class), leaves us with an old Gerrard Warren and an overachieving but still 7th rnd pick rookie Brandon Deadrick to help out My Favorite Fatty on the DL.
I certainly don’t buy the Pats as being quite as dominant as they appeared from the 2nd half of the Lions game to then end of the Bear game. If the offense can’t carry the team, the defense will get exposed quick.
Still, given the expectations from the start of the year, it’s been a fun one.
