When
We’ve determined interest. Now we need to determine when.
I know this will be impacted by location but no time like the present.
Historically, we’ve held this in three different months:
May, June or July.
My suggestion, assuming people are coming to my house, is to have it over July 4th.
This would make the dates June 28th thru July 5th with arrival anytime during the week.
This would afford us with a couple of the activity options I mentioned elsewhere.
Several summer movies are releasing that weekend as well.
February 9, 2009 at 9:26 pm #57464That weekend is not so groovy for me.
February 10, 2009 at 1:04 am #57465I hate to have to say this, but that’s a BAD idea. Our loved ones expect to share that weekend with us, and anything that conflicts with that usually loses. If it’s for sure that weeekend, I can pretty much say right now that I can’t be there.
My opinion? reschedule for a week or two before or after.M3C
February 12, 2009 at 6:05 pm #57466personally i’m fine with it. I have a wedding to attend in june, I forget the exact dates though. I’ll post them if we choose a time in that month.

February 15, 2009 at 8:07 pm #57467Well, I just talked to the wife, and gently mentioned the 4th. I got the expected “Are you F***ing crazy?!” response. So, can we pick another weekend?

February 15, 2009 at 8:39 pm #57468Of course.
Simply suggest alternates.
Let’s go with the opposite. Everybody post the dates they CAN’T make it and we’ll see where the holes are.
I’ll post em to Google Calendar and we can see where we stand.
February 22, 2009 at 4:59 pm #57469Wedding is June 27th, which is the last weekend in June so that’s bad for me. And Gencon is August 13-16 so that’s bad for me. Other than that I am open.

March 16, 2009 at 5:01 pm #57470Ok, got a wedding weekend of July 11th, and the aforementioned July 4th weekend is a no-go. I think that June 21st would prolly be a bad date, because it’s Father’s Day. Other than those, I’m good.

That page show’s the calendar I’ve put together with black out dates.
There’s a section in May that looks good … I blocked it out.
Tuesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 31st.
The national Mem Day holiday is the 25th (last Monday of May).
Waterloo Celebrates it the following weekend (our version is the specific day … May 30th)
That means Waterloo will have a bunch of Memorial Day things going on to check out. A huge fair down the street from my house. Music, vendors, and food. Vintage cars, horse-drawn wagon tours, boat rides on the canal and train rides.
As before, the 26th is when I will be taking off work and anyone is welcome to come early and stay through to that Sunday. I have the 25th off as well, but that will be grilling day with the family.
April 3, 2009 at 3:24 am #57474looks goot to me
April 5, 2009 at 2:55 pm #57475I can try to make it up for some of that. Definitely.
April 10, 2009 at 10:29 pm #57476Sounds do-able. I’ll double check with the wife.
