Define “Master Crafter”. I mean if you are talking about a person who can craft anything in a certain trade, then that is pretty much already defined by the level of the recipe. If you mean it in some RP sense (such as a trial to be accepted as a Master of your craft) Why would that make a difference in whether you can craft something or not?

I like dark brew myself. I use to consume large quantities of Long Island Ice Tea (contrary to the name, there is no ice tea in it. It is made from 5 alcohols).

On the Molsen front, I enjoy Molsen Ice a lot, for some strange reason.

That all said, I use to drink heavily in my youth. But now it is extremely seldom as my wife doesnt drink alcohol nor do most of my friends. So when I do get the opportunity to sip a hearty brew, it knocks me on my ass.

On a side note, I got to experience the

    GREAT FLOOD OF 87

In 1987 in Central and Northern Maine, we had record snowfall during the winter. In the spring (April to be precise), we had massive amounts of rain + high temps. All that water caused the rivers to swell to enourmous proportions. I was literally cut off from my family for a week. If you’ve never seen a house floating down river, I must say it boggles the mind.

The flood of 87 caused over 100 million dollars in damage (lots of money back then you whippersnappers). And the President (the Gipper himself) came and took a tour just so he could let us all know it was a Disaster Area and we could get $$$ from Uncle Sam.

    Crazy days

Ah the rain seems to have…erm not stopped but it is no longer falling as hard. They say we have gotten like 12 inches in the last 3 days. it varies from region to region. It will continue to rain through the week. w00t. In fact some T&L storms just passed by.

The river across the street never crested its banks cuz they were really high, but it got very close. Other parts of town werent as lucky. The state is F’d up in a big way. On the upside, Hiker gets to work from home (on account the roads are washed out between here and her office).

Yeah many folk have been displaced cuz the were flooded out. Its been a wacky few days. Hiker shot off a roll of film while strolling downtown today. We’ll post em when we got some good uns. wmur.com has some good shots if you click the link to photos sent in by citizens.

And the National Guard are still out there helpin people. *salutes*

Thankfully it doesnt sound like there were a lot of injuries, mostly just damage.

Well I’m gonna go wring out my clothes 😉

heh, I actually knew what she was doing. I have seen that before at demonstrations. But it also makes me think of a vulture I saw at bird of prey show. They demonstrated how fast those suckers can chow down. It ate all the meat off a turkey drumstick in like 4 seconds, i kid you not.

I tend to change the model dependent on where I am building and I know BTP does as well.

So a visual check is not always possible. You’ll actually have to wander around and use some items (or mouseover at least) to figure out their use.

    Duh…gee boss okay! 🙄

FYI Yeah thats not a new concept for me.

I must have missed it. Cuz I spent 15 minutes lookin fer it. Course I didnt go upstairs.

So like I guess the Dummae smashed the Jewelers bench. We will have to reacquire one. Though I am thinking maybe from somewhere safer (I will look around) Or perhaps we can find a nice evil Jeweler’s Bench Maker to come by and install one.

I also noticed last night when I went to cure some skins I was carrying, that there is no Curing Tub in the Spire. That shouldnt be as hard to get. I might even steal it from the Tanners in Foothold. We could disguise ourselves ala Shadowrun as Repairmen. We’ll have someone hack into the grid and make the power go all wonky in the Tanners and some of us go in in HVAC jumpers. We snatch the tub, throw it into the van. Then we snag anything we can for street resale. We might as well plant some C4 just in case we need to get rid of evidence.

No Dwarf’s Head is being made at all. When you succeed you get the xp, but not the brew. IIRC, the erf is missing for the brew. It exists only as a recipe.

Not to get the topic too far off, but Bioware has been on a desperate search for Writers. Not builders or programmers, but writers. Apparently they realize thier stories are weak.

    Howdy Ya’ll.

A quick note to you guys about what can be done with CNR.

    Anything.

All that happens when you “craft” is that the items you put into a crafting placeable are destroyed and a new item is created by the game engine.

The items you create have to be in the game world’s custom pallete. Which means custom item creation, which isnt a big deal. The only real hurdle is staying in scope of the game world and within what the server admins want to see people making. Any property you give an item, makes it worth more gold. Unless its something bad. So world economy has to be kept in mind as far as that goes. If people are pouding out +1 swords, they can make a lot of cash.

Most properties of the placeables can be tweaked. You can change a lot of things about the way they work. Like the DR on trees and rocks. The chance of digging clay or sand. You can change the rate at which plants respawn thier “fruit” and you can change how much of the fruit will spawn.

All that said. Lets get some hard, “Let’s be able to make this” stuff. Right now all we have is the Campsites. We can definatly add different metal shields. Big question is what do you want them to do.

Also, if you have messed around with CNR on another server (*cough* Remus *cough*). Most servers have changed their CNR dramatically. So try to shake any preconceptions you have. On another server that many of us played (and met) on, they had changed thier CNR a lot. One of the big things was they made thier crafted items non-sellable. That is not true normally. Whatever you make has a gold value created by the game engine. You can sell everything you make (unless its marked as stolen or plot). They also had a cubic truckload of tailoring recipes compared to whats in the base CNR. So..ides, thoughts, and approvals please!

I am here to lend my knowledge and skills, so make me do somethin’.

I am in an apartment building. Which is part of a complex. Comcast is the ONLY cable provider int he area. You can get DSL through Verizon and a coupla others. But mostly its all about Comcast. I figure I must be close to the substation because my bandwidth nevers gets low. I was surprised as hell figuring the whole building is on Comcast’s cable and then some. But there it is. Mojo in the works yo.

6204 down, 361 up. I tested three times cuz usually my down is a bit higher, and each time I tested it went up. I am sure I can break 6300. My connection has always been fantastic. People try to sway me to DSL by telling me cable always gets clogged with traffic and bogged down, but I have never seen it. I have always been mad fast. Maybe it’s because I am so close to so many tech areas. the coast here is like a little silicon valley.
